Businesses in Fleet decorated their shop windows with red, white and blue window banners and their own window displays to celebrate the Queen’s 90th Birthday.

In addition Union flags were flying from the flagpole holders in the lampposts and Fleet Town Council have also joined in the celebrations by providing  a “Happy 90th Birthday, Your Majesty” banner across the road.

There is also a Best Dressed Window competition for retailers and The Hart Centre are displaying hundreds of paintings of the Queen made by children in local primary schools.

The event was organised by the Fleet Business Forum, a group of local businesses who are working on initiatives to bring more people into the town.

“Retailers in Fleet put in such a huge effort with their window displays year round and is great to see businesses coming together to decorate their windows in a united theme to celebrate this important occasion. We were also delighted that Fleet Town Council supported this event. Decorating Fleet Road creates such an impact and is a great tribute to a very special lady.” said Emma Molyneux, Chair of the Fleet Business Forum.

The decorations are on display from Monday 18th to Sunday 24th April.
