Independent Funeral Directors John Ford and Tony Mears have been loyal customers at the print and design centre in West Street since Kall Kwik Farnham first opened their doors for business in 1984. Janet Ford will receive the gift on behalf of the company which has premises in Alton, Aldershot, Farnborough, Grayshott, Haslemere & Godalming offering a wide range of funerals to suit individual needs.

“We’ve seen a lot of change in 30 years,” said Kall Kwik Farnham director Colin March. “In the early days our services included a fax and photocopying bureau service as very few people had computers or mobile phones back then.

“We probably served more people in person in those days as they popped in to pick up or send a fax  and one of our most regular visitors was a little cat who came in every day for several years we called ‘Socks’ because it had white feet.”

In 1984 the green £1 note was still in circulation as was the tiny half pence piece. Printing was all done by the traditional litho method using metal plates and running work through the press four times to produce a full colour job.  In the twenty-first century most printing is done digitally making it far more cost effective and considerably faster. Today Kall Kwik’s top selling services include traditional print, producing posters, indoor and outdoor signage, vehicle graphics and the design and build of award winning exhibition stands.

Explained Colin: “For example we can now design and print a four metre banner using our own in-house equipment within a couple of hours. In 1984 we’d have had to sub contract the banner out and it would have taken days.

“The business card is the one product that has been in constant demand throughout all three decades, and I suspect that will be the case for the next 30 years!”
