Phyllis Tuckwell nurses have cared for patients and families affected by cancer or other serious progressive illnesses, for over 35 years. They work on shifts around the clock, to ensure that their outstanding supportive and end of life care is available to patients and their families 24 hours a day, every day of the year – including Christmas Day.

The charity’s nurses care for patients at the Hospice, on the In-Patient Unit and at Day Hospice, and at the Beacon Centre. And its Hospice Care at Home nurses take their care right into patient’s own houses, for those who would prefer to spend their last days at home. In fact, every day Phyllis Tuckwell supports over 250 patients, relatives and carers, across the whole of West Surrey and part of North East Hampshire.

To thank all of its nurses for their hard work and dedication, Phyllis Tuckwell has produced a video to show how important their nurses are. The video illustrates the care which Phyllis Tuckwell’s nurses give to patients and their families, and the importance of this care to those who are facing a serious progressive illness, such as cancer.

You can view the video on the PTH website, on the Phyllis Tuckwell YouTube channel. It is posted on the charity’s Facebook and Twitter pages today (12th May).

If you or your family have experienced the care which Phyllis Tuckwell’s nurses provide, the charity would love to hear from you! Please visit their Facebook page to share your story.
