Local charity Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care has recently received a donation of £1,676 from the FAOS Musical Theatre Group.

The money was raised through ticket sales at their two 2019 performances, Titanic and Fiddler on the Roof. FAOS Musical Theatre Group performs twice a year in the Great Hall at Farnham Maltings and supports Phyllis Tuckwell at each of its shows, donating a proportion of the revenue from the ticket sales of its benefit night performances to the charity. The money raised on the benefit nights for Titanic and Fiddler on the Roof was a fantastic £1,676, and their chairman Kevin Sampson visited the Hospice last week to present a cheque to Phyllis Tuckwell’s Community Fundraising Manager, Charli Quay-Barnham.

“We would like to thank FAOS Musical Theatre Group for their continued support,” said Charli Quay-Barnham. “£1,676 could cover the cost of our whole Living Well service for a day. Supporting around 800 patients a year, our Living Well team cares for those who need help with everyday activities, and offers therapies, advice and nursing care to help them cope with the symptoms of their illness and improve their quality of life.”

“FAOS Musical Theatre Group is proud to support Phyllis Tuckwell,” said its chairman Kevin Sampson. “We will be holding a benefit night for Phyllis Tuckwell at our next production, Sister Act, which will run from Tuesday 21st to Saturday 25th January. The benefit night will be on Thursday 23rd January, when a proportion of the revenue from every ticket sale will be donated to Phyllis Tuckwell.”

Sister Act will be held at Farnham Maltings. For tickets, call the box office on 01252 745444.

Phyllis Tuckwell provides supportive and end of life care for adult patients and families living with an advanced or terminal illness (such as cancer, heart, lung or neurological disease) in West Surrey and North East Hampshire, an area of 550,000 residents.
