The event, organised by Charlotte Walters, owner of the Fleet-based hairdressers, was held on 9th December and included mince pies, mulled wine and a raffle, which was drawn by Hart District Councillor Stephen Parker. £200 was raised on the night, which has generously been matched by Lloyds Bank, who helped with the fundraising event, taking the total to a hair-raising £400!

Phyllis Tuckwell is a local Hospice Care charity which provides supportive and end of life care for patients and families facing cancer, or another serious progressive illness. It covers West Surrey and North East Hampshire, supporting over 250 patients and relatives every day, in their own homes, at the Hospice in Farnham and at the Beacon Centre in Guildford. All of its services are provided free of charge, but as the NHS/Government only covers 20% of its costs, it has to raise over £15,000 a day to be able to do this, and therefore relies heavily on the support and generosity of the local community.
