In celebration of their anniversary the company recently took the staff on a sailing weekend to the Isle of Wight, where they were treated to weekend of wining and dining as well as sailing to and from Yarmouth on two chartered yachts.
Owner and Managing Director, Alistair Mackenzie took the time to thank the staff, many of whom live locally and have been with Net Technical Solutions for over 10 years, for their loyal support and hard work in what has been a landmark year in the company’s history.
Commenting on the event, he said, “Sailing is a passion of mine and so it was a real pleasure to take as many staff as possible to the Isle of Wight to celebrate the company’s 20th birthday. I’m amazed at how quickly the years have gone by and have honestly enjoyed every minute - working with a great team, having fantastic customers and seeing steady growth, I’m delighted at the level of success that we’ve managed to achieve so far and excited to see what’s on the horizon.”
The company was established in June 1999 by local Farnham resident Alistair and originally based in Aldershot for the first 8 years, providing IT support, network security and web-based software development to a growing number of SMEs around Surrey and Hampshire. In 2007, Alistair was joined by Ben Stupples, who had his own company in Watford and is now Commercial Director, and the expanding business moved to Farnham in 2011 to accommodate the growing team. In 2014, Net Technical acquired rival company Dunston IT, based in Aldershot and Richard Brain, a former Dunston shareholder and now Technical Director, joined the Board. Having almost doubled in size as a result, in the same year, the company moved to their current premises in the Millennium Centre, off West Street.
Net Tech now has a strong team of 40 people and services a fantastic client base of local organisations across the home counties. As well as general IT support and services they also provide bespoke software development and have created a number of applications and websites for a variety of businesses.
The company continues to grow year on year and their passion for delivering professional IT support and services is still as strong today. With new clients coming on board, new projects in the pipeline and vacancies available for additional staff, even with the prospect of Brexit, all looks very positive.
Ben Stupples comments:
“Despite Brexit looming the market certainly seems very buoyant and we have enjoyed a very busy and productive first half of 2019. There’s a lovely atmosphere in the office at times like this and the 20th anniversary celebrations have been a wonderful way to bring all the staff together. This makes it a great time to join our team and with a number of important positions currently available, we are keen to recruit from the local area”.
Over the last few years Net Tech has become much more involved in their local community, supporting several initiatives for the Farnham Council (such as being Silver sponsors for Farnham in Bloom); events for local charities such as Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care; Step by Step and more recently, sponsoring the Farnham Hedgehogs Farnham Carnival float competition which took place in June. This August, Alistair and colleague, William McSkimming, EBS Operations Manager, will also be taking part in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100km bike ride to help raise funds for the White Lodge Centre in Chertsey.
