Cofton Holidays has this week unveiled a brand new £50,000 children’s Woodland Adventure Area, created for on-site guests and day visitors to enjoy free of charge, year-round.

Launched to coincide with the start of the summer holidays, the area, which is located above the main facilities just past Cofton’s donkey enclosure, features a 25m zip line, a climbing cage, rope ladders, balance beam, balance lines and scramble nets.

Children visiting during the first week of the school holidays were the first to try out the new course with the help of Cofton Holidays’ Mascot, Digby the Dinosaur.

The Woodland Adventure Area adds to a host of free activities on the 80-acre site including nature trails and bike trails, outdoor playground areas, a multi-use sports wall and an indoor soft play area for children under three years old.

Commenting on the opening Helen Scott, Director at Cofton, said: “Entertaining children throughout the summer can be expensive and so we’ve created the new Woodland Adventure Area to add to the long list of things that you can do for free here at Cofton.

“Added to daily activities that change throughout the summer, such as free Birds of Prey displays and paid for experiences including Segway, archery and zorbing, we aim to keep kids on their toes without breaking the bank.”

Visitors to Cofton can enjoy a host of other activities during their trip including the inflatable assault course challenge, swimming in the heated outdoor pool and pond dipping.  Use of the outdoor pool and access to the park costs just £3.50 for adults and £2.50 for children throughout the summer period.  Guests staying on caravan holidays, campsite holidays or cottage holidays also have exclusive use of the heated indoor pool and splash down area.

Cofton’s on-site fish and chip shop, restaurant and pub provide great value refreshments and dishes for all ages from breakfast through to dinner.
