Tight-head prop ‘Mitch’ joined Exeter Chiefs in 2011 after spending six years with the Ospreys, Neath.  A current Welsh International with 14 caps to his name, the 26 year-old was part of the Welsh squad that won this season's Six Nations Championship.  Since arriving at the Chiefs he has made 31 appearances for the club in all competitions.

Mitchell joined the Exeter Saracens for the dedicated training and coaching session at the club’s ground at Exeter Arena.

He says: “As a rugby player a lot of your daily routine is based around training in preparation for games. Learning calls and moves and working hard on areas such as your set-piece are all vital when it comes to bringing a team together. Thanks to Brewin Dolphin Exeter, I have been able to pass on my expertise and training tips to the Exeter Saracens which is a great club in the local community.”

Tim Walker, Head of Office Brewin Dolphin Exeter says:

“We are thrilled to have been able to arrange this unique opportunity and to be able to put something back into the community.  Exeter Chiefs is the West Country’s premier rugby club and it’s a great way to help raise the profile of Exeter Saracens as a local club and offer a very memorable experience for the players and supporters in their Diamond Jubilee.”

Brewin Dolphin organised the visit by the 26 year-old Welsh International who has 14 caps to the club’s home ground. During the session ‘Mitch’ worked with Head Coach Ross Bovingdon and the first team to pass on his expertise with coaching tips and techniques.  The juniors (under 13’s) also had their own coaching and Q&A session followed by autographs.

Exeter Saracen's Player Coach Ross Bovingdon says:

“You don’t often get the chance to have the opportunity to have dedicated coaching from an international rugby star at a club like Exeter Saracens and it’s a great way to celebrate our special milestone anniversary. The lads really engaged with ’Mitch’ and his tips and advice will prove to be a great help for our young side next season. I hope all the players take-on his invaluable advice and work even harder on training techniques.”
