Martin Bell, Retail Director of Devon Air Ambulance Trust said “Our Topsham shop is great not just at raising funds for the Charity, but for being at the heart of the community who support us so passionately.  Last year this shop raised £60,000 which actually equates to 18 lifesaving missions; something our customers, staff and volunteers should be very proud of achieving.”

Martin added “We are often asked why we spend money on refurbishing our shops.  There are many reasons for this eg poor lighting, together with issues with space for sorting and stock areas off the shop floor.  This refurbishment has allowed us to address all the issues in one go and ensure that our staff and fantastic family of volunteers have a practical and safe working environment.”

The Trust’s Volunteer Support Officer, Rosey Oakes, added “We are also looking for volunteers to help in the shop. There are loads of really good reasons to volunteer.  If you’re looking for a job it’s great for your CV and your confidence – you’ll be learning new skills and dealing with lots of different people and situations.  For those new to the area it’s a great way to meet people and make new friends.  And don’t forget the feel-good factor you get from knowing you are doing something to help others!”

If you can offer any time to DAAT then please pop into the shop and talk to Sarah or Tom, or email Rosey at r.oakes@daat.org

Why not pop into the shop on Saturday and take a look for yourself at the improvements made and pick up a few bargains?
