International musician Naomi Butterworth to perform at the Maynard School
The Maynard School in Exeter is hosting the next concert in the popular Maynard Concert Series, this time by cellist Naomi Butterworth.
The international soloist will be performing on Saturday 27 November at 8pm (with a champagne reception at 7.30pm). Her stimulating programme will include Rachmaninov’s legendary Cello Sonata for cello and piano, and his exquisite and timeless Vocalise (accompanied by Peter Adcock on piano).
There will also be a masterclass at 3pm offering budding cellists and string ensembles the chance to work with Naomi and gain advice on technique. Naomi is an outstanding, internationally-experienced ‘cellist, orchestral player, chamber musician, teacher and coach.
Maynard Headmistress Bee Hughes said ‘Music is an essential and thriving part of life at the Maynard and we are delighted to present Naomi Butterworth as this term’s performance for the Maynard Concert Series. The Master classes are a great opportunity for young musicians to learn from the professionals.’
Tickets for the concerts cost £15 each (£7.50 for students) and include a Champagne Reception before the concert. Tickets for the Master classes cost £15 (£7.50 for students). A discount will be given to those attending both the Master class and the concert. There are limited places available on the Master classes. All tickets can be purchased from the Maynard Marketing Office – please call 01392 273417 or email marketing@maynard.co.uk. Any funds raised from the ticket sales will go towards funding our music scholarship programme to enable talented students a place at the school.
