Sun, Sea, Sand and RUGBY...What’s not to love?
When the season draws to a close, we are glad of the break but then we get that itch to play, watch or be involved with the sport we love.
So dust off your vest, shorts and sun cream and join us on the beautiful East Devon coast for a two-day Festival of Rugby including men, women’s and juniors’ tournaments.
A beach rugby event seemed the perfect way to bring together the sport I love in a place I consider to be home, whilst at the same time raising funds and awareness for charity.
In particular the mental health and wellbeing support given by Restart Rugby and The Royal Marines Charity resonated with both Sarah and myself.
On retiring from professional rugby it became apparent to me that mental health is like any other part of your body. If taken care of, fed well and exercised it will be in good shape.
I am committed to raising awareness for the support now available to sports and service people enabling them to develop and strengthen personal resilience so life changing events such as injury, retirement and new careers are faced up to and dealt with positively and confidently.
