Despite the difficult economic climate, Exeter Golf and Country Club are celebrating a 51% increase in sales income during September.
Exeter Golf and Country Club offers eight function rooms which are used for a variety of events, from business meetings, conferences and training to birthday parties, banqueting and weddings. Function room sales have steadily increased across the summer months, bucking the general downturn in corporate bookings due to the current economy across the public and private sector.
With the current and forthcoming public sector cut-backs, the sales team at Exeter Golf and Country Club expected a decrease in corporate sales and so have implemented a sales strategy to combat the general trend.
Sales across the summer months of July, August and September are up 41.7% in total.
Jenni Taffs, Sales and Marketing Manager of Exeter Golf and Country Club said, “We are delighted that we have had such a busy summer, and being over 50% up for September is a great way to start the autumn. Our Christmas Party bookings are also going well although we are still running promotions on our mid week party dates as there are a few weekday evenings available.”
Exeter Golf and Country Club are also celebrating success with wedding bookings for this year. The number of weddings are 14% up on last year, with 2011 bookings already at this year’s numbers. Early in September, the club hosted three weddings in one day which was a record for the venue.
Exeter Golf and Country Club has invested heavily in their function facilities over the past two years including a full refurbishment and new equipment. The club is also undergoing a major refurbishment project to upgrade the indoor swimming pool and spa facilities.
