The Women's Running Network and Run in England has moved headquarters to the University of Exeter.

The new base is in the University's Innovation Centre in Rennes Drive.

The organisations encourage women and men to take up running and arranges regular running sessions around the city. It promotes the health and fitness benefits and the social side of running.

Women's Running Network co-founder and Run in England project co-ordinator Pauline Beare said the network had come a long way over the last 12 years. And it is hoping that its new facilities will help it to expand further. "This is a very exciting time for us," she said.

"We're in a much more professional environment, and I believe our new headquarters will provide the springboard for even bigger and better things within our organisation."

The move from Stoke Canon coincides with a new partnership between the university and the network.

The new partnership will see PhD student Izzy Moore conducting a three-year study into the physical, psychological and emotional effects of running. It will examine the impact of running on family life and its influence on the younger generation.

The Women's Running Network can now be called on 0845 8681299.
