Following a major recruitment drive Bigwave media, one of the largest creative growth agencies in the South West, recruits seven new full-time staff, including three apprentices.

Bigwave media established in 2007 with a turnover of £3m, employs 45 staff working from three Devon offices based in Exeter, Torquay and Plymouth. The leading creative growth agency provides innovative and cost-effective marketing, design and digital services as well as in-house PR and event management for companies both large and small throughout the UK, with a focus on achieving great and measurable results for its 300+ clients, across a diverse range of sectors.

Simon Beer, Digital Director – Bigwave media said:As one of the leading creative growth agencies in the region, we offer a complete range of in-house resource tailored to all our clients’ marketing needs for effective online and offline campaigns.  It’s important, therefore, to get the right staff to deliver on these projects and over the last six months we have been training and upskilling from within the company as well as recruiting externally.”

The expanding Search department welcomes new Content Marketing Manager Amelia Hall, Paid Media / PPC Executives Matt Williams and Penny Sheard.  They are joined by new colleague Charlotte Healey as the new Web Project Manager for the Design & Development team.  Charlotte spent several years developing her career in SEO and Account Management at media agencies in London and Devon before joining Bigwave media.

She said:The Digital Project Manager role is brilliant because it allows me to learn more about web development, while using what I’ve previously done to help deliver projects as effectively and efficiently as possible.”  Charlotte adds:Everyone here is so lovely and welcoming and I’m really excited about my future with the company.

The latest in-take of apprentices includes 21-year old Molly Thwaites who relocated from the Lake District and has always been interested in marketing as a career - Molly said:Apprenticeships are a good way to learn as you gain quality experience alongside your qualification and the Bigwave team have been so helpful in teaching me the skills I need to enable me to grow in this industry.”

Bradley Hall (18) who lives in Crediton was a student at Queen Elizabeth Community College.  He applied for an apprenticeship at Bigwave media because it gave him the opportunity

to gain some experience of working full-time in a creative agency who are involved in a diverse range of marketing aspects, which a College or University course would not be able to offer.

Harrison Stock (18) joined via an apprenticeship scheme with Exeter College.  Harrison said:I found out about Bigwave media through an apprenticeship scheme that Exeter College was offering and applying was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Bigwave is one of the most humble, friendly and creative companies I’ve been involved with and I’m really looking forward to my future with them!

Simon Beer concludes:We have a longstanding policy to take on Interns and local apprentices, both locally, regionally and internationally. As an independent, dynamic agency we feel it’s very important to invest in these young people to bring in fresh ideas and help train and guide them in this exciting sector – it’s wonderful to see them grow and develop.”
