The project aims to increase rural incomes by developing the road infrastructure which in turn will improve access to markets for the farming communities.

“We are all delighted at RouteShoot to be involved in this project that really is making a big difference to people’s daily lives on the other side of the world” Says Gary Wilson MD of RouteShoot Ltd.

RouteShoot is a company that offers an innovative solution which allows anyone to capture videos and routes using just a Smartphone or tablet. RouteShoot worked in partnership with web developers in the Philippines to create this on-line, interactive, multi-media platform to digitally map the whole of the national and local road network in the Philippines, and to track associated priority public investment projects.

RouteShoot is used primarily by the World Bank and the Department of Public Works and Highways to identify the need for local road improvements, and then to monitor the construction of approved projects through to completion. The use of video, directly linked with GPS tracks, provides an indisputable record that investment is being spent correctly and in the right location. This is an important step forwards in transparency and budget credibility for this highly decentralised government.

The 'Open Roads' platform joins the RouteShoot product list as the Exeter based company expands into other aid agency projects including Port Vila Urban Development Project in Vanuatu and the Ministry of Infrastructure in Tonga.

Customers can access RouteShoot's ground-breaking free app by visiting the App Store, Google Play Store or Windows Store.
