We feel extremely fortunate to have been offered Marianne Pool Farm to purchase.  This is a very old farm adjacent to our Clyst George Vineyard and will allow us to expand the vineyard and now to develop our own winery.

In May this year we planted the first of our new fields with our "Dragons Den" Partner Vineyard which we hope will be in production by 2012.

The winery is underway and we have recently purchased tanks from Italy and a wine press from France and look forward to preparing the winery for the 2012 harvest.

The winery will be about continuing our philosophy of producing "natural wines" from the vineyard to the bottle!.   We have been introduced to this idea of wine production by our good friend and fantastic "natural wine" italian producer Mario Fontana (www.cascinafontana.com).

Natural wines go a stage or two! beyond organic and even biodynamic by considering every part of viticulture and wine making with regard to working with the natural and social environment.  This is a big subject and can only be discussed over a very large glass of wine!

I'm afraid the farm or winery is not open to the public at the moment but as with all aspects of Pebblebed we will look to fully engage the community where we can.
