Bidding for the Fund will begin on 9 December and will be aimed at supporting one-off Exeter-based arts projects taking place during 2015/16.
Grants between £1,500 and £10,000 will be available and priority areas of funding in 2015/16 are
• Festival of Rugby events
• Community festivals
• Art Form festivals
• Partnerships between artists and communities
Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate that the project will benefit residents of Exeter, improve access to the arts and increase participation in arts activity by all of Exeter’s diverse communities.
Applications will only be accepted from fully constituted arts/voluntary organisations or individual artists who can provide CVs and examples of their work, this fund is not open for organisations already in receipt of rent or core arts funding. An exception may be made in the event of an organisation being part of a partnership established to deliver a specific project, in which case the partnership may be eligible. All applications must have a strong arts component and must take place in the city.
Cllr Rosie Denham, Lead Councillor for Economy and Culture, said : “I’m pleased that we’re bringing together several existing pots of funding to create a single, open and transparent arts project grant fund. It’s another step in updating the City Council’s arts funding jigsaw and we look forward to supporting some really exciting projects in 2015/16.”
