Woodbury Park Hotel & Golf Club has thanked the people ofEast Devonfor their support – as it has broken a new record.
The golf and hotel resort now has more than 2,000 members, an all-time high, meaning that memberships on the Oaks Championship golf course, as well as at the Leisure centre, are now operating at full capacity and there is a waiting list to join.
Many of the latest members are from the towns and villages near the resort and have been attracted, the club believes, by its new facilities.
General Manager Joe Hammond said that both renewals and new membership applications had reached unprecedented levels: “We have been inundated with people who have heard about the great things going on here and want to be a part of something special. We have never had this situation before and it is great recognition for all of the hard work which has been going on over the last 12 months.
“We have had an absolutely fantastic response since the new Terrace Bar & Grill opened and there is a great atmosphere there every day of the week. We know it is important to constantly update our facilities and I think people can see thatWoodburyParkis always investing.
“With membership levels where they are now, we can invest even further and we have some really exciting plans for our leisure facilities and both golf courses, as well as many other areas across the whole complex.”
Proprietors Sue and Robin Hawkins added: “We are ecstatic that word is spreading about the good things going on here. We are hugely appreciative of the support of the local communities as, at the end of the day, all of our facilities are available for them more than anyone.
“Even though our leisure and Oaks golf membership levels are at capacity, people are continuing to realise that you don’t have to be a member to enjoy what we have to offer.
“We do still have some room for membership of the nine-hold Acorns golf course, and for one reason or another general membership vacancies do become available. We are still taking enquiries all the time and I would encourage people to join the list as quickly as possible!”
