The ship's captain and lieutenant met Dream-A-Way chairman Jeff Merrett and local supporters at Exeter Golf and Country Club yesterday to seal the deal. The charity has given dozens of people with learning and physical difficulties in the South West the chance to go on holidays and day trips with their families.
Mr Merrett said: "We are so incredibly honoured to be chosen as the selected charity for HMS Defender, particularly for the year of its launch." The ship's crew plan various fundraising activities.
