With the launch of their 2011 Festive Menu, Exeter Golf and Country Club have launched new menus across the club to celebrate their new team of chefs.

The club’s catering facilities have been given a huge boost by newly created team which has been hand-picked for their different experiences which together form a team highly experienced in a wide range of catering from fine dining to banqueting.

With catering experience spanning over 50 years collectively, the team of chefs are headed up by newly appointed Head Chef, Rob Drackett. Rob has a wealth of experience and accolades under his belt including a Michelin Bib-Gourmand.

As with most chefs of his calibre Rob’s passion is with finding the highest quality, locally sourced ingredients to enable him to bring his creative menus to life.

The results are already positive with bookings in the club’s Georgian restaurant, theCLUBHOUSE up on last year and conference and banqueting sales 14% up in the first quarter of 2011.

Martin Halse, General Manager said, “We are delighted with the improvements which have been made already. We have received some fantastic reviews from both members and visitors who come here for conferences, dinners and weddings. As with other areas of the club, we are striving to use local produce and suppliers wherever possible, and this is certainly having a positive effect on the quality of the food we deliver. Obviously, Rob and his team are also working their magic creating some wonderfully delicious menus which are proving incredibly popular.”

Exeter Golf and Country Club have invested heavily in their catering facilities in recent months from a personnel point of view through to equipment and menu production. The membership is involved in this development through regular Catering Forums and the recently devised Catering Advisory Group which brings together the unique knowledge and experience of some real industry experts who are also members of the club.

Martin Halse continues, “Exeter Golf and Country Club is a home from home for many of our members, and so it is vital that we provide the very best food and drink we can. We understand just how important this is to both our members and our visitors for example for their business events, corporate entertainment or celebratory  dinners with friends and family. That is why we will continue to review and improve consistently in the future with the help of our members, our Catering Advisory Group and of course of team of chefs to ensure we can continue to be as proud of our catering as we are now.”
