The Maynard School in Exeter is busy preparing to welcome Head Girls and their teams from across the South West to the annual Girls’ School Association (GSA) Head Girls Conference 2011, sponsored by Williams de Broe investment managers and Foot Anstey solicitors.

The Head Girls’ conference, which takes place this Friday 30 September, is an opportunity for Head Girls and their teams from girls’ schools across the region to work together and take part in group tasks and challenges.

The theme of the day will be ‘High Risk Leadership’, and will feature an inspirational talk by special guest Fiona Price (the founder of Fiona Price & Partners, the firm of Independent Financial Advisers she set up to pioneer financial advice to women).  The delegates will also be assigned with an ‘Apprentice’-style challenge during the course of the day in which they will have to lead and manage a project as a team. The task will involve branding their company, interviewing a ‘client’ and deciding where to invest their ‘client’s’ money.

Headmistress Bee Hughes said, “We are delighted to be hosting the GSA Head Girls’ Conference at The Maynard again as it was such a success last year. Developing leadership skills is a fundamental aspect to any aspirant young professional. I am sure that all the girls attending will find the day inspiring and motivational.  We are most grateful to all colleagues who have helped in preparing this conference and to Williams de Broe and Foot Anstey for supporting the event.”
