Here's some news about work experience placements for disabled people

Did you know? 77% of people think more highly of companies that make an extra effort to employ people with a disability and people with a learning disability stay in their jobs 3.5 times longer than their non-disabled co-workers.  These are just two of the reasons for employing disabled workers that are put forward by Devon County Council’s Ready When You Are campaign.  If you own or manage a business in the Exeter, Teignbridge or Torbay areas and think that you could offer work experience or a supported internship to someone who would pay you back with loyalty and hard work, whilst also strengthening your ethical ‘footprint’,  Jack Spicer at Oakwood Court College would love to hear from you.  Jack is an experienced Learning and Development consultant who is working in partnership with Devon County Council to prepare young people with learning disabilities for the world of work.  He can be reached at the following email address: jspicer@oakwoodcourt.ac.uk so please drop him a line for an informal ‘no strings’ chat.  In the meantime, check out the Ready When You Are campaign:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sn7xuzEAcX0  or https://www.readydevon.org.uk/
