Exeter City Council, in partnership with Help to Buy South West, will be hosting an information day on affordable home ownership on Thursday 25 September at the Guildhall, High Street, Exeter. This will offer advice and information to couples and families about buying a first home.

Help to Buy South West is a Government appointed agent set up to offer a number of different options for purchasing an affordable new or existing shared ownership home. Representatives from Help to Buy South West will be on hand at the event to discuss the options available.

Cllr Rob Hannaford, Lead Councillor for Housing and Customer Access said: "This is the perfect opportunity for people to get on the housing ladder – if you would like to buy your own home, but cannot afford the full price, there are properties where you can buy a share typically between 40% and 80% of the open market value.

“Exeter City Council has a strategic housing role in addition to managing its own housing stock , and we are very keen to play a positive key role with other stakeholders in helping local residents find a range of housing options that suit them best. This includes shared home ownership that gives them the chance to build up some equity for the future.

"The event will offer a range of useful advice and information, will show you the type of homes that are available and give you the chance to register your interest."
