The new 107.3FM Radio Exe is here! Nearly four years after Exeter, Mid and East Devon got its second commercial radio station, Exeter FM morphed into the new station at 7.55am on Tuesday 10 January. It follows six months of hard work after new local owners Exe Broadcasting, led by Paul Nero and Mark Tyler, took control of the station from London-based Sunrise Radio.

Radio Exe promises to increase its commitment to local output, local news & information, and local businesses. Later this month, the station launches a new Saver Card scheme - a low-cost way for local businesses to harness the power of radio advertising for a modest annual fee and reap the benefits of a joint promotion.

In its last published figures, Exeter FM recorded a year-on-year increase in its audience reach. Under local ownership, led by experienced broadcasters and media experts, the station aims to build on this solid base. Because there is no national 'tempate' about how the station must sound, it can target the local market more accurately and adapt its promotions and sponsorships to the needs of its advertisers and supporters.

Radio Exe is also launching a new team-building training programme at its studios. Organisations can book a fun but informative day's training, culminating in the production of a radio programme, complete with presenters, reporters, producers, researchers and travel announcers.
