A group of Exeter College students is giving Devon County Show’s stand the ‘wow factor’ at the Craft for Crafters Show, which runs from Thursday to Saturday (Feb 15 to 17) at Westpoint, Exeter.

The students have created an eye-catching display incorporating a massive fish, a wall of Royal Wedding tissue paper flowers and plenty of craft makes.

Ollie Allen, Show Secretary, said: “It is fabulous! I’m blown away with their wonderful ideas. They really understood the brief and have put a lot of thought and creativity into the display which is really, really attractive. It definitely has the ‘wow’ factor!”

The BTEC Level 3 students were briefed by Emma Watson, Education Co-ordinator for the Devon County Agricultural Association and Caroline Wiscombe of Exeter College. They designed the stand to highlight two aspects of this year’s event - the work of marine conservation charities in Devon and a huge Royal Wedding celebration.

Craft 4 Craft Show visitors can buy tickets to the Devon County Show on May 17-19 – at 10 per cent off the usual advance sale price - and get crafty on the stand.

  • ·       Royal Wedding Celebration - make flowers from recyclable red, blue and white tissue paper
  • ·       Ocean Discovery Zone – make colourful fish from the craft materials supplied
  • ·       And take away a BBC Radio Devon Royal Wedding bunting pattern
