Exeter Enterprise Rotary is holding a golf day at Exeter Golf and Country Club to raise funds and awareness for the Royal Marine Charitable Trust Fund. The money raised will be used to support those Royal Marines and their families who have suffered injury or the loss of a loved one whilst on operations.
On Thursday 16th June, the President of Exeter Enterprise Rotary, John Perry will welcome The Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor of Exeter, Councillor Stella Brock, to Exeter Golf and Country Club to mark the start of the golf day which is hoped to raise over £3000 for the military charity.
Representatives from the Royal Marines Association will attend, including Brigadier Simon Hill who is President of the Royal Marines Association and Director of the fund-raising campaign. Brigadier Hill will be joining 6 Royal Marines from Haslar Company who have suffered serious physical injuries and amputations. Royal Marines from Haslar Company will tee off just after mid day.
John Perry, President of Exeter Enterprise Rotary said, “We are very much looking forward to what will be a very enjoyable day amongst friends, whilst also raising funds and awareness for such a high profile and most worthy charitable cause. I am delighted the Mayor will be joining us on the day and look forward to meeting the Royal Marines of Haslar Company.
Following a day of golf people attending will enjoy a carvery meal and refreshments in the CLUBHOUSE at Exeter Golf and Country Club, where the prize ceremony will take place.
