THE closing date for voting on the proposed Exeter Business Improvement District (BID) has been confirmed.
Some 740 business rate payers within the proposed BID area will be able to vote until 5pm on Friday, July 22, on whether or not they would like to introduce the BID scheme in Exeter.
Under the proposal, each business within the BID area would pay an additional one or 1.5 per cent levy on top of their annual business rates to fund projects throughout the city, raising more than £3 million over five years.
All businesses eligible to vote will receive a copy of the Exeter BID proposal document this week. The 12-page document outlines how BID revenue would be spent during the first year.
Ballot papers will be sent out on Friday, June 17.
