Classics Galore! is back with another fine concert being held at Great Hall, Exeter University. 7.30, Saturday 9th November 2013.
The concerts are specially arranged for those with an interest in the lighter side of classical music. Film and other music is not forgotten and in past years music from Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean and The Dambusters. Even theme tunes from radio and television have mixed with Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Puccini รข so everyone is catered for!
A full orchestra is joined by a brass band and two choral societies, singing or playing both individually and also together during the evening. The finale with audience participation is of course in true Proms tradition, with Land of Hope and Glory, Rule Britannia!, etc. complete with a soprano soloist suitably attired!
The Lympstone SW Telecoms Brass Band, the Ottery St Mary Choral Society, members of St David's Players, and for the first time the specially selected Classics Galore! Symphony Orchestra, comprising top musicians from the Exeter and East Devon areas.
We are also delighted to announce that Penny Daw and Mark Hurford will be our soloists.
