Cllr Rosie Denham, Lead Councillor for Economy and Culture, said she was delighted with the result and looked forward to working closely with the BID Board : “I am delighted that the majority of businesses in the city centre have backed the BID. I strongly believe that this is the right decision for city centre businesses and for Exeter. The BID will be crucial in taking the city centre forward to the next level. Money raised from the BID will enable businesses to invest in better marketing and promotion of the city centre.”
Council Leader Pete Edwards, said the result was good news for Exeter: “We are constantly striving to better the city centre and ensure that it remains ahead of its competitors. Securing the BID will allow the city centre to move in the right direction and ensure it is strong and fit for purpose for future years in the face of ever-growing competition."
