Car Wash Day
26th March 2014

Motorists are invited to take their car along to Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service headquarters at Clyst St George from 9.00am to 2.00pm.

Mickey our ‘live scent’ rescue dog, a three and a half year old springer spaniel will be there helping! Mickey is a great asset at incidents, because of the speed he can find a lost person, as well as cover vast areas in a relatively short time and access areas that would be too dangerous for rescuers to enter.

The Fireman Sam shop will be there, so come along and have your car washed, and find out all you need to know about keeping your family and home safe from fire.

There is no charge but all donations will be gratefully received for The Fire Fighters Charity - the official organisation which exists for injured fire fighters during their times of need, assisting over 17,000 individuals every year throughout the UK by providing pioneering treatment and support services.

Chief Fire Officer Lee Howell said: “Monies raised through national fundraising initiatives provide a real boost to The Fire Fighters Charity. As well as being a fun and popular event for the charity, the National Car Wash also gives our firefighters the opportunity to share important safety messages with members of their local community.

“Your valued donations will go towards helping thousands of men, women and children from the fire and rescue community during their times of need.”

Where: Fire Service Headquarters, The Knowle, Clyst St George, Exeter, EX3 0NW
