EXETER and East Devon businesses are being encouraged to brush up on their general knowledge in preparation for a fun-packed charity quiz in support of The Lord Mayor's Charity – Wonford and St Paul's Youth and Community Project.

Organised by Devon accountancy firm Simpkins Edwards, whose head office is in Exeter, the eighth annual Exeter Really Big Quiz is at The Corn Exchange on Wednesday, May 11.

Teams can pit their wits against each other to find the area's brainiest business. There will also be a raffle and an auction in aid of the charity.

Items available for auction will include signed Exeter City and Exeter Chiefs balls, and a cricket bat and ball signed by Ian Botham. There will also be a bottle of Louis Latour 1988 Corton Grancey Grand Cru to bid on, worth £400.

Lord Mayor Councillor Marcel Choules, said: "I appreciate all the hard work that is being done for the Lord Mayor's charity, without which it would not be able to function and progress. The donations will help to employ a youth worker for a long time so it will be a great boost for the community."

Local businesses wishing to enter a team can download an entry form from www.simpkinsedwards.co.uk or contact Sharon Roberts, the event organiser at Simpkins Edwards, by either emailing sroberts@simpkinsedwards.co.uk or calling 01392 211233.
