Year 9 Maynard School student and budding entrepreneur Ella Mooney has created her own brand of granola and yoghurt snack, named ‘Ella’s Great Granola’ that she hopes will be the next big thing in healthy eating.

Ella, who makes her ‘Great Granola’ from a special recipe that she invented herself, has also gained the support of Yeo Valley Organic, who have allowed her to use their yoghurt as part of the recipe.

Ella will be launching her product to her fellow Maynard students on Friday 6 May and will be giving out 60 free samples as a promotion to raise interest. Ella hopes that once people have tasted her granola, she will then be able to sell it, firstly to Maynard students and then hopefully to a wider audience. Ella also has aspirations to be a contestant on the BBC Series ‘Junior Apprentice’ in the future.

Ella said’ I am really excited about launching my granola. I have been working on the recipe for a while now and think I have perfected it. I am confident that my fellow students will like it and I hope to be able to sell it in the future. One of my biggest dreams is to be a contestant on the Junior Apprentice and as soon as I am 16 I am going to be applying!’
