Bird fun at Living Coasts

Torquay’s coastal zoo and aquarium is celebrating everything that flies in the air or dives in the water. Staff will use the theme in talks, quizzes, craft workshops and trails.

At Easter there will be an Easter Egg trail, live chicks and a crazy Easter Bunny Dive Show. The cute chicks will be in Front of House between Good Friday and Easter Monday (3rd to 6th April). Children will be able to follow a fun trail around the zoo and receive a chocolaty treat when they finish.

On Wednesday 8th April there will be a special Easter Bunny Dive Show. This could be the only scuba diving Easter Bunny in the country! Visitors will be able to watch the Easter Bunny and his helpers as they dive with the penguins and deliver Easter enrichment to these playful birds.

There will even be a chance to win some prizes in a special game of Easter Bingo. The dives take place on Wednesday 8th April at 11:30am and 3:00pm. Meanwhile, at Paignton Zoo over the Easter weekend there’s the Big Ostrich Easter Egg Hunt, with the added incentive of a large chocolate Easter egg prize donated by the Cockington Chocolate Company.

Later in the year, also under the banner of Dive & Flight, there will be Otter Chaos, an exclusive after-hours event to get people closer to the zoo’s charismatic otters. It’s on Wednesday 10th June, between 6:00pm and 8:00pm. Seals and Supper, on Wednesday 2nd September, also between 6:00pm and 8:00pm, is a chance to learn more about the charity’s fur seals, help their keepers with feeding and enrichment and enjoy presentations on seals both in the zoo and in the wild.
