Thank you so much to the FSB. I have had such useful information through the training they offer as part of the membership. Today was about POA for your business and Wills - I had not thought about what would happen if I could not run my business etc., so thank you for bringing this to my attention. Also had great and quick advice about sub-contractors and rights to work in the uk. Which put my mind at rest. The networking is great and specific to areas as well, but no restriction on the ones you can join. People are on hand to have a chat through ideas and ask for advise as well. A Big Thank you.

I highly recommend becoming a member of the FSB due to the support and networking opportunities given. Recently, they helped me secure a discretionary Covid grant from my local council for which I am very grateful for. Hisashi Kuboyama has been ever so helpful is any dealings I have had with him and his assistance helped ensure I was awarded the grant which is very important to the business.

We have been a member of the FSB for only 2 months and already it's been well worth the membership fee. During that time we have been introduced to an IP lawyer, received some free advice and been supported (on appeal) with a successful COVID19 recovery funding application.
I cannot recommend Robert Downes and Simon Edmondson highly enough to any Small or Medium Sized Businesses looking for support, whatever it may be.

The FSB are a lifeline support for all small businesses, from downloading legal documents, legal advice, networking, care, access to finance, insurance and more. Simply one of the best investments you can make in your own business. You might not use the products or services but you may need them. Add to this the lobbying of government both national regional and local it is good to be involved.

I was recently struggling to claim some grant money from my local council for my business.
Robert at the FSB was extremely helpful putting me in touch with the person at the council who could point me in the right direction and help with the claim.
I have now been successful and have received some financial help which has been a huge relief.
Worth every penny of my annual fee to the FSB.

I've been a member for a number of years now, I've used a number of the FSB services including the free legal advice which resolved an issue with a former employee and saved me thousands in legal fees! I've also used the template policies and other forms on many occasions and the free webinars are really useful too! It really is money well spent!

I have attended 45 events in the last 2 months and met some fabulous people from over 1,000 businesses. This has only been possible through the efforts of all the volunteers and staff at the FSB. Thanks to everyone for creating the opportunities that have help my business to grow. John

Why I joined FSB.
I had an issue with Cornwall Council charging me for parking space during the lockdown of 2020 and 2021. The Town Clerk of Looe gave me the name of Ann Vandermeulen, FSB Cornwall Development Manager.
I contacted Ann who took up my case with Cornwall Council. She wrote letters, attended meetings and challenged the Council on several occasions. At this stage I was not a member of FSB but Ann put 100% effort into challenging the Cornwall Council decision to charge even though we were in an enforced lockdown and consequently had no guests who could use the spaces. Unfortunately she was not able to persuade the Council to back down.
I was so impressed by her effort that I began to look more closely at FSB and I was amazed at the options they offer their members. I thought if this is the service and attention given to a non-member then becoming a member is a no brainer. I just wish I had joined earlier!

Being a member of FSB for many years has always felt like being part of a larger family and discussions about things and business issues were always followed with interest and supportive actions. Communication is the key to solve most problems especially in business and FSB gives a great opportunity for such discussions anytime is asked or made aware. Also very effective on connecting people and different communities facing similar situations.
In this last year of Pandemic it has proved also very supportive and helpful in every way possible.

I really value being a member of FSB for the networking, support and also how they lobby Government about small businesses. This has been particularly important during the pandemic. We joined FSB in December 2020 purely for their free legal advice. We had an extremely stressful experience with a new member of staff which meant we had to speak to a solicitor most days over two weeks. They gave good advice and were able to reassure us that we were doing the right thing. I've used their site for various HR related things since December and find their e-newsletters useful. Couldn't fault our experience so far. Thank you!

It was our Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce (GBCC) who recommended that we join the FSB as we are a relatively "small" company but cover a very large area. The Development Manager at FSB has been invaluable with his advice, help and assistance with our business queries...thank you! Whenever we see their stand at a Trade Expo or Fair we introduce ourselves and again thank them for their assistance.

I joined FSB in 2019 when I launched my business, First Aid Training GB. I didn't know what to expect, having never run a business before. The FSB have been really helpful, providing support, knowledge and a fantastic networking schedule that actually works. Plus, their own insurance provider offers good value.
