We came here because the gelato shop closest to us was closed. We live quite far away, and on the way back we wanted to get a gelato to take to the car with us. We did not expect such friendly and good service. The man serving us was cheery and helpful, and we inquired about the many ornaments and pictures scattered around his shop. He was very talkative and charming, and even showed us his world-famous parrot which he let us hold and even put it onto our heads. He gave us a million-year-old fossilised oyster which he let us keep. It was truly a highlight of our day. Would recommend to anyone coming to Eastbourne to go to his shop.

We popped in last night for some ice cream for my daughter's 5th birthday. We had some really really tasty ice cream and when we sung happy birthday to my daughter, she was presented with a Terry's chocolate orange by the owner! She was really pleased, it was such a lovely gesture. Highly recommended the ice cream here, it's sooo tasty and well priced

One of the only places in Eastbourne that are open to get an ice-cream on a Sunday evening! Brilliant service (friendly and helpful), great choice of ice-cream flavours, very competitive prices and most importantly really tasty good quality ice-cream. Will definitely return to this 5* business!!! 😊

My family love Thayers for ice creams when it's hot, and hot chocolate when it's not. The owner is lovely and full of interesting stories. I could listen to them all day - he has certainly lived an extraordinary life. Of course the ice cream has to be good and it is - great choice and all the ones we've tried have been delicious.

Today was our first time in Eastbourne and at some point we decided to try some good LOCAL ice cream to cool down.<br><br>Google brought up Thayers and oh boy, this was one of the best ice cream we ever had in the UK. We especially loved 'chocolate heaven' and regretted we took only one scoop of it, but then again 'coffee mocha' and 'rum and raisins' were too good to pass. Texture was just right and its taste I would describe as rich but not too sweet with plastic or powdery feeling many other mainstream icecream suffer from.<br><br>The place itself is also full of soul, with its classic interior, something you would remember from childhood. Definitely be visiting again! Please, support this local business.
