Plenty of places to eat, go for a walk or boat trip around the marina. Shops for a variety of tourist & not-tourist items

We walked from Eastbourne along the seafront (it's about 3 miles). At first we thought, is that it? Houses and blocks of flats around some water? But as we got closer, we saw the architecture and civil engineering masterpiece unfold. The water looks very clear and inviting at the wide opening (although it's not for swimming in). As you walk passed the loch and towards the hundreds of boats, you can see hundreds of fish - some of them upto 2ft long close to the walkway. We walked across several interesting bridges to the restaurant areas. We sat at Pablo's and had a few drinks and icecream watching the boats come and go. We then got the tourist train from the back if the Harvester back to Eastbourne pier. A great way to lose a few hours.

It was nothing special but it was worth taking a ride on Dotto train from Eastbourne to harbour if you want a change of scenery.

Worth a visit but don't expect many shops. Harbour focuses more on eating and drinking! Boat trip around the harbour was very interesting looking at all the lovely properties and boats. Steer clear of the Harvester restaurant though (reviewed separately on trip advisor).

We went to see the marina in the night. It was a good atmosphere around the marina and it was lovely to eat food overlooking the harbour.
We ate in the Thai restaurant, which was great!
Next time we return to Eastbourne, we will definitely ride the road train to the harbour and visit during the day to explore further.

Not as much there as we expected, although the restaurant we ate in was good (Pablo's) and the pleasant atmosphere of the harbour with outdoor eating and drinking was really good

Beautiful. Great places to eat. Well worth a visit just for the views and when you think it cant get anybetter you walk past the lifeboat centre and down in the outer harbour there are 2 seals which live there and can be seen when the tide is out. Amazing sight!

The marina has plenty of parking and is well worth a visit. There are a number of specialist shops and a full size Asda. There is a large selection of restaurants from cafes including a McDonald's too almost fine dinning. Great views across the marina with its array of boats to lust over.

Sovereign Harbour is really a very pleasant place to while away some time. Good berthing facilities. Good shops and restaurants by the water and retail park nearby. Walk along the beach path or dabble your toes in the water. The management company certainly keep the place in pretty good order and tidy. We visit a few times every year and never had anything to complain about in general (apart from the terrible service in the Thai restaurant)....

It's a marina with a bog standard retail park attached. Hardly worth the effort of the two mile walk we made from Eastbourne along the prom to get there.

The restaurants are decent enough and Pablos steak special on the Tuesday evening we visited was fine, but the shops you can find in any retail park anywhere. Boots, Next, TK Maxx, Brantano et al. Plus Asda! We were hoping for something a bit more quirky and original given the setting.

Watching the boats navigate the locks was fascinating, and it it is nice to eat a meal on a warm evening outside watching the mariners go about their business, but as an attraction I feel it doesn't quite measure up.

My friend loves this place as he loves to watch the boats. We caught the dotto train which is less than 5 mins walk then to the marina. There are plenty of places to eat including a chippy, American diner and Harvester. There is a small shop selling boutique style items but it is quite expensive. There is a boat trip too, which my friend enjoyed. Its an ok place to visit if boats are your kind of thing.

Lots of boats to look at. Enclosed space surrounded by housing. Lots of envy as you see how the other half live. :-) not worth a special trip unless you're into boats.

There are plenty of eating places at this beautiful Eastbourne marina, from fish and chips to Indian restaurant, Italian, Thai (if you want a truly fantastic meal, a bit more expensive but worth it) even a Harvester. You can sit and watch the world go by and the boats some large some small but all beautiful. There is a boat trip you can take priced reasonably, which takes you round the inner marina and gives you a very comprehensive and knowledgeable tour. There is also an out of town shopping centre just near by with some good shops including Next, TK Max, a massive shoe shop called Brantano so lots to see and do around this area
