We walked from our hotel along the promenade to the Marina a distance of some 4 miles and thoroughly enjoyed the walk. The marina itself is very modern with beautiful properties all around. At the marina there is quite a mix of restaurants and cafes/bars and the majority offer outside seating to enjoy the views over the marina. Worth a visit if in the area.

Sovereign Harbour is a very large marina divided by a bridge. There are very many boats off all shapes and sizes, several for sale and whilst it was quiet early on a Sunday morning it was very enjoyable to walk around. There are a few shops and restaurants and a large, free car park.

Whether you like boats or not, this is a great place to visit. Great selection of restaurants, to eat in or sit out. Very flat for walking and good for photography and fishing.

I read reviews with interest and of course we all have different expectations of places. The harbour is bustling on warm sunny days, you can sit outside of a few restaurants and have a drink or food, dogs are allowed outside at all of the waterfront eateries. You get a great view of the boats from the outside seating areas and it's busy at peak times. There are 2 Mediterranean restaurants, 1 Thai, 2 bars, a cafe, an Indian, a restaurant that serves locally sourced food, the harbour grill for kebabs and Fish & Chips and American style diner. The Harvester is what it is and not to my liking, I have been to all of the others apart from the kebab shop and all are very good. Away from the main part called The Waterfront you will find an Asda, Wilko, Next, Boots, Cinema and a furniture shop. It is a decent walk from ten main resort of Eastbourne but a nice walk along the seafront, about 2 miles. Public transport is not great especially at weekends and Bank Holidays but there are some buses and the Dotto train is great in the summer. You can drive and there is free parking. My favourite restaurants are Seasons, The Thai Marina and The Indian. There is a good walk around the Marina and you can watch the boats come in and out via the lock. The whole place is man made and this is worth remembering as it all had to be dug out! There are often seals in the outer harbour and plenty of grey mullet swimming in the inner harbour in the summer.

It was a long walk from eastbourne. We didn't plan that too well..
By the time we got there we was to tired to explore.
We had a meal then got a taxi back to our guest house.
I'd love to go back and have a proper look.

I love this place, so much so that I now more my boat here
easy to spend time on the boat as every thing to hand , the retail park
with big asda whilst not pretty is very useful , have used all the bars &
restaurants & can recommend them all depends on your taste of course
Even if your not into boats its still a nice place to spend some time .

We decided to walk to the marina from our hotel. It turned out to be a bit of a trek but we enjoyed watching the boats with a glass of wine. The weather was sunny and bright so that helped

Went for a lovely outside breakfast in the sunshine at Di Lieto's. Excellent service and such quality food. My mushroom omelette came with an amazing salad of at least 10 different fruit and salad items. Lovely drinks. Amazing.

This is quite a popular area to visit. It's a good walk around the Marina, (disability friendly). This leads to the sea going lock gates that are interesting to watch. There are several outlets here from chandlery, gifts and food. This ranges from a fish and chip shop, cafes and full dining. This area is busy in high season and dry weekends. This is next to a retail outlet and can provide a relaxing coffee after a busy shopping trip.

We wanted to visit the Harvester restaurant but finding this place then parking wasn't easy. The nearest car park is a fair walk away. Once here it's a lovely place for a stroll.

Visited a couple of times. Lovely walk around the harbour and down to a shingle beach. There are a couple of bar/restaurants overlooking the harbour and a couple of shops too. There is a boat trip that starts from the harbour but we didn't go on this trip. A good hour or two can be used here with the walk and then refreshments at one of the bars. A pleasant little harbour.
