New restaurant offering delicious, freshly cooked dishes. I have only enjoyed breakfast dishes to date but all have been a joy to experience. Delightful team with very happy ambience as a result.

Breakfast in the courtyard was so lovely that we went back for dinner in the evening. Service, food and wine were all excellent.
Far more than a cafe, this deserves to be in the top listings for Eastborne.

Had a really excellent breakfast here during the tennis tournament, sitting outside in their courtyard at the back. Went back for an evening drink and ended up staying for dinner. The menu, like the décor, is simple, tasteful, and well executed. The service struck just the right proficient/friendly balance.
At the time of writing, TripAdvisor rates this as the 45th best restaurant in Eastbourne. Ignore this; it's way better than that.

A few months open this is a cut above the rest of local bistros.... it would be rude to call it a cafe !!
The staff were so friendly and attentive... nothing to much trouble Menu varied catering for most tastes
Fresh ingredients expertly prepared and served beautifully Will definitely return
Thank youSteve

Delightful Sunday lunch in this charming recent addition to Eastbourne's eateries. Friendly, attentive staff and delicious food in a recently updated, intimate restaurant. The portions are generous and the menu varied with additional daily offerings. There is a small patio garden reached via a fairly steep staircase (as are the loos!). Each table has a small card highlighting the provenance of various food items on the menu. Our steaks were perfectly cooked exactly as per request.

Went for dinner last night after having been several times for coffee and lunch , we had mussels in white wine and duck croquettes for starters which were both absolutely delicious, for mains we had rump steak and lamb steak which were also delicious and enhanced by the applewood smoked cheese Bon - Bon’s !!! We also had a couple of glasses of a lovely English sparkling wine and 2 superb cocktails to finish. Hosted by lovely staff and we’ll definitely be eating here my re often ! (Service, food and value rating would be 5 for all but we can’t seem to select these on the Tripaadvisor website below)

I visited with two clients for lunch. It was delightful. From the welcome greeting and being asked if we’d like to sit in the garden as it was a beautiful day through to the end of our meal.
The food was delicious. I had vegetarian tart of the day (spinach & artichoke hearts) served with salad and new potatoes. It was fresh and beautifully cooked. Another guest had fishcakes and the other had a sandwich (with a good choice of bread options). They were as enthusiastic about their food as I was.
We couldn’t resist the dessert menu. I had the seaside sundae (naughty but oh so very nice). One guest who doesn’t usually have dessert couldn’t resist the raspberry creme brûlée (with delicious crumbly home made shortbread biscuits) and the other (an ice cream aficionado) declared her bowl of strawberry, vanilla & chocolate to be a perfect ‘Neapolitan’.
Great service. Delicious food and a lovely setting. I wish you the best of luck with this lovely new venture in Eastbourne.
As a local I shall definitely be back.

Visited Skylark 3rd June for a light breakfast and a much needed coffee! We had the egg and bacon roll with homemade tomato relish. It was delicious! We opted for an iced mocha which was the perfect balance of coffee and chocolate. We love coming here, the staff are always friendly and attentive and Erina is always lovely to talk to! Finally booked in for an evening meal and I’m very excited!

We moved to Eastbourne from London two years ago and have found the restaurant scene to be pretty mundane. Having walked past the Skylark a couple of times, we thought we would give it a go. So glad we did. It features a short, regularly changing menu to reflect seasonal ingredients and tries to source these locally. The place was quiet for a Saturday night, but then it only opens on Friday and Saturday evenings so may not be on many people’s agenda for dinner. It should be!
I had arancini, the first time I have seen this in the town. It came as three little rice balls with pea and mint served on a bed of mushy peas. It had just the right blend of crunchy shell and soft Centre that you would find in Sicily. My healthy husband had a salad with avocado, crayfish and tomato which he mad3 short work of. As a main he had local sea bass with a bubble and squeak pancake and fresh asparagus. I had polenta chips and beer battered hallow I, which was delicious. No room for pudding, even though we fancied all the options. With an interesting bottle of Slovenian white and coffee our bill was less than £70. Nice ambiance and friendly service made the evening memorable in a good way. We will be back soon; it is just what the town needed.

I held my husband's 30th birthday at Skylark over the bank holiday weekend and it was brill! Erina and Craig could not have been more supportive or helpful! They created menus for us and were so accommodating to our needs in the lead up. Was incredibly reasonable for either two or three courses too!
They allowed my decorations (including an expectedly large banner!) and made the restaurant look amazing! Party guests were super impressed by the decor and everything about the evening. One person who has been living in EB for well over 10 years said it was the best food she has had in the town. The food was AMAZING- so tasty and well presented. Such a brilliant selection of drinks too. Customer service was excellent! I genuinely could not find fault!
We have been back since and love it! Definitely support these guys- friendly, local and something different!

I come here at least once a week. The service is spot on and attentive. The owners are lovely. The full English breakfast is best in Eastbourne. I will definitely try the other menu items. If it’s great service, food and coffee , you after, go to Grove Road. I know a good breakfast, go see for yourself.

Drawn in by the short attractive menu. Happily my intuition was correct. Friendly attentive staff and a relaxed vibe. Portions should sartistry the gluttonous, but can't disguise the quality of the cooking. The people in the kitchen know what they are doing. This won't be number 73 on tripadvisor for long!

Always one to try new restaurants in the local area. I was extremely satisfied after leaving this restaurant. On arrival, I was greeted at sat down by friendly front of house staff. We didn’t book but the restaurant was busy. Good array of options on the menu and really great to see references to local suppliers. Food was well presented and tasted great. Pricing was excellent for the service and quality of food. Will definitely return.

We were looking for a dessert at the end of a long day and passed by Skylark. It looked nice, so we gave it a chance.
The cake (chocolate tart) was beautiful and delicious. My better half loved her affogato.
All in all it was a lovely experience. We'll come back for a proper meal next time in Eastbourne.

I visit Eastbourne roughly once a month and I've began to notice some lovely new restaurants on Grove Road. Skylark looked lovely from the outside and the menu sounded good. It's always nice to see a restaurant offer a different menu each day because they are utilising fresh, local produce.
I had the oven baked cod on pea and spinach risotto which was fresh and tasted great! Lovely big fresh fillet of cod and the risotto wasn't stodgy.
Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Will definitely visit here again and recommend to friends!

It was my first visit to the newly opened Skylark last night but it certainly won’t be my last! I had duck breast (perfectly cooked) and the seaside sundae for desert, I also had little samples from my friends, a lovely potato gratin and a spatchcock chicken. The service was welcoming and helpful without being intrusive and the atmosphere was buzzy. The owners have made the most of the space with lovely art work adorning the walls and the lighting was perfect. I will be recommending this restaurant to all my family and friends. At last a great restaurant in Eastbourne!
