We found the restaurant Skylark during our spontaneous visit to Eastbourne. I'm so happy that I booked a reservation. The food was incredible, the ambiance too. Great and knowledgeable service. Hopefully we will come back.

Stopped into the Skylark on our first morning in Eastbourne. My husband got the Avocado toast with a side of bacon, and I got the muesli (which was strawberries, bananas and raspberries that morning). Two strong cappuccinos to go with it and - our best breakfast in Britain, by far!!! Came back the next day and the friendly waitress remembered our order exactly. Great place!

Delicious food- the halloumi was the best I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The staff were warm and welcoming and I love that everything was locally sourced. The interior was really beautiful. I can’t wait to come again.

Had a great evening here, they were so accommodating, friendly and helpful to our sometimes bizarre requests as we hired out the place for the evening. Couldn't recommend any greater, they are so friendly and the food was fantastic and I will certainly be going back there again.

Having popped into town early to help my wife, Gemma, spend her birthday book vouchers (don't mock, if there's a bibliophile in your life you'll know these are the perfect gift!) we we're wandering along Grove Rd and decided to stop into the Skylark for breakfast.
Following a friendly welcome and a delicious cup of coffee, Gemma settled on the apple and cinnamon pancakes while I went for the rather less adventurous 'Full English' - and I can tell you now that I'm very glad I did.

An English breakfast may well be a simple dish, but I'm of the opinion that it can be elevated to greatness or condemned to the pit of wasted calories by two things: The sausages and the eggs.
Bacon, mushrooms, beans, and black pudding (an optional extra here) are fairly standard where-ever you go, but when you crown it - as they do at the Skylark - with 2 absolutely perfectly fried eggs and a pair of beautiful herby, peppery bangers, it becomes the true king of breakfasts.

Portions are generous too, to the extent that I only just had enough room to finish the half a pancake that my wife just couldn't manage - which was an altogether different kind of delicious: Thick and fluffy with soft apples, cinnamon, and the genius addition of honeycomb that anyone with a sweet tooth just has to try.
