I was looking for somewhere to eat after a day watching the tennis, and this place had been recommended. We got in just before 6pm and got a good table. The service was excellent from all the staff, and the prices very reasonable. The food was good Italian fare, without being special, but tasty enough.
Overall a very good experience.

Popped in During the Tennis weekend and we’re lucky enough to get a table, we thought maybe we’d be in with a long wait and the food would suffer, but the contrary.
The service for such a busy restaurant was excellent and the food was delicious and great value.Would definitely call again when in town,

I visited with the family on a busy bank holiday without making a reservation. The staff found us a nice table downstairs which was quite spacious for three adults and three young children. I was very impressed with the menu, the waiters were all Italian, and the food was perfect and reasonably priced. We’ll definite be going again when I am in Eastbourne.

Well, I was blown away by how great this restaurant is. I had been recommended it by a few friends but ventured in last Saturday with my partner and a friend.
The restaurant was full- every table, I don’t think I have ever been to a restaurant which was as busy, full of atmosphere and happy chatter.
Make sure you book if you are visiting at weekends as it is exceedingly popular.
We were shown to our table by the owner and then transferred to another friendly waiter. We ordered red wine from Sicily which was very nice.
I chose the Melanzane to start followed by the calzone. My partner chose the avocado and seafood salad followed by a Parma ham and Funghi pizza. My friend had the minestrone pup followed by the calzone also.
The starters came out very quickly and the melanzane was fabulous. Every mouthful was bursting with freshness, herbs, garlic, perfectly seasoned. It was quite simply perfect. I have eaten on the amalfi coast and in Milan many times and the food at Pomodoro e Mozarella was as authentic and as delicious as I experienced in Italy.
My partner’s seafood salad was divine and my friend’s minestrone was also wonderful.
The only ripple in what was an otherwise perfect evening was when it became apparent that our main courses had become delayed. After 45 minutes from our starters being cleared away, the kitchen activity behind us seemed to slow to a halt as orders had been completed so we called a member of staff.
Our original waiter came by and profusely apologised and admitted that our order had been “lost” and insisted we have large glasses of wine on the house, which we accepted. He couldn’t have been any more apologetic and within 5 minutes our courses appeared, along with two more large glasses of complimentary red wine.
The delay wasn’t a problem as we were busy catching up and the atmosphere in the restaurant is wonderful. The waiters were clearly working very hard with the manager and owner really keeping on top of everything. It was an impressive set up and shows quite clearly how professional and experienced their restaurant is- apart from our delay in main courses, the restaurant was a well oiled machine.
The main courses were absolutely delicious and the bill was very reasonably. Rounded off with a round of complimentary limencello.
It was a perfect evening, I am absolutely sure we will be back. Give it a try!

Introduced to this place by an old friend. Its like a tardis inside...and the portions reflect this. Over 20 whitebait as a starter!!! Reasonable prices for very acceptable wines. Fair value too even on a Fri/Sat evening. Look out for bus/road-train tickets offering 10% off...they were accepted, even on a Saturday night.

No booking but the owner found us a table on Saturday night.
Speed of service ~ was LIGHTENING!
Just so on top of everything.Garlic bread, pizza and tomato and onion salad.
Creme caramel to finish.All great.
It's a fair bit bigger inside than I thought ~ quite a major operation.
Will go again.
