Had a 4 night stay in Oct 2019. Very nice, well maintained & extremely clean hotel in a good sea front location with excellent food & lovely, smart staff. My room 219 was compact & well equipped but I found the mattress hard (I'm used to memory foam). The wake up call system failed twice but was fixed asap. A very enjoyable stay on the whole.

Lovely afternoon so decided to stop there for a cup of tea and a teacake. Tea served with lovely flapjack and shortbread as well, so we had a real treat. Friendly staff and nice outlook over the seafront.

The rooms were immaculate, the staff were most helpful and pleasant and the included breakfast was both first class in choice and quality. The only negative comment would be the free internet, that was of poor quality and speed but I forgive this as everything else was excellent. Thank you Langham Hotel

Food was very nice and loads for the grand cream tea package for 2. Very fresh and tasty. They even gave us a cake box to take home the leftovers. Shame to see the hotel so quiet at lunch time.

What's not to love?
Never been to Eastbourne before.
We found the Langham online. Actually found it trying to use up some Lufthansa miles.
Only had one night but, my oh my!
This is a luxury service I would expect in Paris, Hong Kong, New York, London, Tokyo.... but Eastbourne? Wow!
And on closer look, no surprise.
Do yourself a favor. Buy the book they have at the reception. It's called 'Celebrity Hotel' and gives you an 'under-the-cover' look at a leading hotel in London. Did you know Pavarotti likes 4? And needed his own specially made sturdy bed for himself, his weight, and all the chicken he consumed (ha!).....The book is written by the owner, Neil Kirby. Classy. Well written. Fast read. Informative. Unfortunately the book is not available on Amazon but easily could be and should be.
Look under the covers of the Langham and you will realize why the service is top class. The owner - he and his wife live on-site - has decades of experience working in a top-class hotel in London. It shows. So do yourself a favor - if your travels take you to Eastbourne, stay at the Langham.
You deserve it!
A few little touches we loved: the staff is PROFESSIONAL (I mean seriously professional); the complimentary water and cookies in the room (thank you! After a long flight this was so welcome); the LARGE renovated bathroom (we stayed in a room on the 3rd floor facing the back; cannot remember the number); the lovely open breakfast room with huge windows and a wonderful ocean view; the courteous and attentive breakfast waiter (sweet local kid); the real food breakfast - FRESH fruit salad! (hotels tend to serve canned stuff), fresh grapefruit slices (wow!), salmon....and of course I loved reading 'Celebrity Hotel' although it reminded me that the human being is, well, an animal. Sigh.
Parking seems challenging at first but you can just ask for a behind-the-hotel parking permit for a nominal fee.
And the night we stayed it was really windy. Our door and the door of another family member (single, 1st floor) kept banging. It took us both a while to figure out the source. Initially I thought I had not closed the bathroom door properly. Stumbling around the room at 4 a.m. we discovered it was the door to the room and took care of the constant banging with a lean-on chair. We just like to sleep with the windows cracked. Other guests probably never noticed. But totally minor. You would not know if you did not sleep in the room and it weren't windy (seriously windy. The red flag was hoisted on the beach the next morning).
Anyway, if you want a world-class stay in Eastbourne you now know where you'll find it.
Thank you.

The Langham Hotel in my view is the best hotel in Eastbourne. The food provided by Michael and his staff is second to none and the staff in general are well trained and very professional. Today's menu for the France Pudding and Wine was excellent, enjoyed by all.
