I felt like Bruschetta for starters, and although this was not on the menu, the staff were perfectly happy to oblige.My girlfriend thoroughly enjoyed her Minestrone alla Genovese (fresh vegetable soup with pesto).
Lasagne 'lla emiliana (layers of pasta with bolognaise sauce, béchamel and Grana Padano) was yummy from first mouthful to last.Panna cotta al caramello (traditional Piemontese dessert with caramel) rounded off a fantastic meal.
Candle included (see photo) and a staff rendition of "happy birthday" because it was that special occasion.One final thing... Spotless clean toilets :-)

This came highly recommended by our B&B hostess as a reliable restaurant. The service was really attentive and friendly and the portions were large.
We had the goats cheese appetiser which was delicious and different. The seafood grill especially was a great tasting and healthy option.It definitely is a good choice in Eastbourne.

We used La Locanda for a family celebration. The party was about 14 people so I was expecting a little chaos. To my surprise the service was 1st class and the food as usual was delicious. My thanks go out to all the staff for making the evening fantastic.

Slightly upmarket Italian restaurant without the pretentiousness! The first thing you notice is the attention you receive from the staff. Our waiter shared a few quips with us without being over the top-really made you feel at home.
The food wasn't bad either!!! Perfectly cooked pasta the wine suggested for us was excellent.
Nice finishing touch was the complimentary iced Limoncello.
Will return soon.

Visited the La Laconia Del Luca restaurant on recommendation of our B&B hosts and thought that the meal was fantastic. The staff were extremely professional and extra friendly and all meal choices were superb eating. Would highly recommend for a great meal in Eastbourne.

Dined here a week ago and loved the place. The staff were very friendly without being over-attentive. We chose from the set menu and we all agreed the food was delicious and good value. Would certainly come here again when we next visit Eastbourne

Four of us were staying in Eastbourne and our receptionist recommended this restaurant. How right she was. We ate here both nights and had SUCH good evenings.
The food was excellent, large choice on menu. Grear house red, very well priced which went with meat or fish and the staff were certainly some of the best (efficient, charming and helpful) we have ever encountered.
This restaurant will bring us back to Eastbourne.

There are many things that go to make a perfect meal. It helped that we'd had a very enjoyable day out. Lovely weather. Also we went at 5.30 before the main evening rush. And the EHA 'Passport ' (10% off) helped! But then the service was friendly, efficient and attentive without being intrusive. The food was delicious, the wine just right and the whole was good value for money. You might not get quite the same level of perfection but it's worth a try.

I've eaten here a few times, it's always busy. Wonderful Italian restaurant and it fully caters for vegetarians, vegans & those poor ppl who have wheat intolerance issues.

The food was very nice but no children's menu so the waiter offered to do a small pizza or small sized portion of the menu. We loved this restaurant!

We had booked and went on a Saturday night. Every seat was taken but due to the hard-working, attentive and polite staff you would have never known.

2 of us went for my wife's birthday. The restaurant was very busy, we booked before. Complimentary bread and olives on arrival. Menu is varied, pasta, meat, fish etc (no pizza) next door restaurant if you want that.
We ordered off the set menu! I had soup and gnocchi. Wife prawns and ravioli. Food came very quickly. I would say within 2 mins of ordering our starters arrived. Food was ok, nothing special. The mains arrived about 10 mins later. By this time we had only been in the restaurant about 20 mins! Mains were nice, very rich however. After we had finished we waited to be offered dessert. We waited 30 mins but were ignored/ forgotten about. The staff were more interested in the older more regular clientele. We asked for the bill eventually and left. We had a voucher for 10% off after attending an Eastbourne theatre show. This was not taken off the bill, as such there £5 tip became 10p. Would say the restaurant was busy, very loud and we sat on a table which was about 15cm from another, it could have been a double date!!

Upper end Italian restaurant with plenty of flair and tasty food. Excellent selection of seafood dishes. Faultless service and genuine hospitality to boot.

My boyfriend and I celebrated his 50th birthday here. Lovely table. Staff attentive and friendly. Really tasty food and all hot. I had vegetable soup, salmon baked in Parma Ham, my boyfriend had bruscetta and lasagne, he was stuffed! Bottle of sauvignon bianco and two house glasses total was £79. They sang happy birthday to my boyfriend nice touch and gave him a card. We go to Eastbourne to visit family and think second visit here. special occasion worth it. Also had pudding each as well.

First time at this restaurant for seven adults and two children, could not fault it, nothing was too much trouble, even going next door to the sister restaurant for pizzas for the children. Food superb, great ambience. Will definitely return when we are next in Eastbourne.

Like the curate's egg, good in places. The lamb's liver and Italian bacon was very good indeed, but the rest was just average. Service is so slow and this is a big negative. We have been here twice and the service was the same. Expensive too- 7 adults and a 7 year old = £200. Not sure we'll be back.

We had dinner on a Monday evening (from 18.30) at this resturant and it was surprisingly busy. The staff were welcoming and efficient. Each of our party ordered different items from the varied menu and we were all pleased with our choices. Overall we had a lovely evening.
