As we were going to the Devonshire we called in for lunch - as always these guys know how to run a proper Italian restaurant. Why can’t all Italian restaurants have oilves and bread on the table. We had the lunch special £13.90 for 2 courses all courses were fantastic. The staff are just brilliant and welcoming. When we come back to Eastbourne we will eat here again.

We found our 'target' Italian restaurant closed (it was Monday), so we ended up here instead for our evening meal to celebrate completing the South Downs Way - a happy outcome.
We all agreed that it was an excellent meal - my choice was minestrone soup followed by seafood risotto and then cassata to finish, all of which were very tasty, washed down with a locally brewed ale from Long Man brewery. Service was very efficient and friendly throughout - and they even honoured the 10% discount voucher from our overnight hotel.Highly recommended.

After finding our booked restaurant was closed (they changed opening times for end of summer!)
We decided to try La Locanda Del Duca.We had dined in Pomadora the night before.which was good but quite noisy due to abirthday party.La Lacanda was different to the Pomadora with less tables. Our food and service was excellent... great fresh vegetables and both sweets were delicious. The bill was expensive ,however we paid for quality and they delivered.

Luca and his wonderful team of loyal staff, whether front of house or behind the scenes, always deliver a culinary experience that makes it a true delight to visit frequently. You cannot fail to find something that will appeal to your palette and they really do go the extra mile, with warm genuine smiles and a cheerful exuberance that you would hope to encounter in an upmarket Italian restaurant. Always a pleasure to dine there.

This is an absolute favourite of mine. The food is first class always consistent. Great atmosphere, attentive and fun staff. You are spoilt for choice, the 3 course meal is wonderful value, the food is cooked to perfection, and beautifully presented. It's the little extras that are included that make this restaurant stand out.

Good food, wine and service even on this busy Saturday night. Some of us ate off the Chef recommended page and some off the fixed price menu.

Overall a nice evening at what is now a very very popular restaurant. Booked table occupied on arrival (10 minutes late) and still had to wait another 10 mins. Food and service very good. An electic mix of diners makes the environment interesting but still good value for money (£200 for 4) and a staple of the Eastbourne dining scene.

Extremely friendly welcome. Made to feel special. Food choices were extremely varied. Quality of food and service was very good. We all went for the 3 course set menu but there were good variations with the mains enabling a wide choice. Would recommend this restaurant if you like good quality Italian cuisine with excellent service. The owner even came to our table to wish us an enjoyable evening

This was the second time that we have visited this restaurant for lunch within a month and on both occasions we have had lovely meals. The food is excellent with a good choice of both fixed price and a la carte menus. The staff were very friendly and service was just perfect. Looking forward to paying a return visit in the not too distant future!

Firstly, I'm going to say that the food is real tasty! You want good food go this place. The staff were really friendly and fun. Five star pizzas on the menu... nah just kidding they don't do pizza. However the starter and main were tasty, real tasty! Not to keen on desert though.
Overall real nice place to eat, if you in Eastbourne go here!

Recommended by family whilst we were on a short term visit.
It was a Tuesday night so managed to get a table without pre booking but the restaurant was still busy , always a good sign to see locals as well as visitors there on a school night . We were treated to free Olives and bread while choosing from a truly vast menu, there appeared to be no pizza on offer but after we had ordered our absolutely superb starters and main , another large table did in fact have Pizza so we must of missed there on the huge menu !Maybe too much choice for some ?
Anyway after 3 courses each and complimentary limencello we were delighted with the quality of food, service and the bill which came to under £75 which was terrific value for money especially as we both had 1 drink and unlimited water and one main being a Fillet steak which was perfectly cooked to rare as requested .We could not really pick out any negatives but if pressed the Tiramisu desert was a bit disappointing.
If we ever visit Eastbourne again we would not hesitate to go back.

My big regret about La Locanda, is that we don't live in the area and can only visit when we are on holiday. Despite this the staff always make us very welcome with much kissing and hugging. It is very busy here and we always book in advance. This is a very well run restaurant and the staff glide between tables, always seeking to provide the very best service. We have been eating here for years now and in that time the food has been of the highest standard. They are lovely friendly people and obviously work very hard to make it a success.

As soon as we arrived we were shown to our table and our coats were taken. The restaurant was buzzing and the decor was very Italian. I felt like I was in Roma. All our food was tasty and outstanding. The service was outstanding from all staff we encountered. Some of the dishes we had included, Scallops wrapped pancetta, Parma Ham and Melon, King Prawns, Streak, Ravioli stuffed with Ricotta and Mushroom sauce. Wine was great, best olives! So many good things to say. Lovely touch at the end with a shot of frozen limoncello! Highly recommend a visit and would return :)

This restaurant is very good and it compares very well with it's sister restaurant Pommodore et mozzarella, next door. This restaurant is more expensive, has entertainment at times and the quality of food is very good. The atmosphere is calmer and less noisy than next door but both are excellent and the staff well trained. It really is hard to decide where to eat as this restaurant is a little more 'up market' and Pommodore, although noisy at weekends, is such good value for money. Try both and make your choice, but if you don't like a bubbling atmosphere where people are chatting and the volume rises, try this quite sister instead. You won't be disappointed whichever you choose.

Always professional, the staff are also very friendly and helpful. The food is very well-cooked, nicely presented and plentiful - and there is lots and lots of choice. Lovely 'grown-up' restaurant - peaceful and calming and comfortable. Lovely decor.

Have been here several times, as a couple and as a larger group.
The menu is interesting, extensive, seasonal and very Italian.Excellent service and advice given on specials.
Staff remembered me which was reassuring and made us feel that we were valued as customers even though we did not spend a lot of money.
Some enigmatic live music really makes this a wonderful place to go.Good veggie options.

Recommended by others when visiting town on a break and also trip advisor and really impressed with the whole experience . Comfortable restaurant with space serving quality food and some excellent dishes. Scallops with pancetta starter was excellent but star of show calves liver and zucchini side dish .
Good wine selection and plenty of choice on a varied menu. Well worth a visit. A
