A nice Victorian pier, with some basic cafés and craft shops. Great views out over the water, but the retail isn't going to blow your socks off.

We visited during the summer holidays, on a lovely summer's day, so as you can imagine it was busy! That said, we were able to get an ice cream with very little wait, and a drink too at the bar at the very end of the pier. They had live music on during the day, which they look to have quite regularly. Prices were on the high side, though you'd expect that for a peak tourist attraction.<br>The amusement centre is great - in fact, one of the best I've been to. There's a small section about halfway down the pier, and then the main section at the end with the ticket redemption centre. It had a great selection of ticket games, and the redemption prizes weren't bad either. I'd say for the better stuff you'd need to be looking at around 2000+ tickets.

Quite a beautiful place, very beautiful color of the sea. A lot of people are swimming. You can try excellent ice cream on the beach. Why 4 stars - is a garbage bin disaster. We didn't find any on the pier itself. And on the coast there are few of them and they are crowded. The toilets are just as bad, they are only open until 19:00, and then what do people do? There are no public changing rooms.

It's ok but not nice that you can't take your own food or drink on there, this will hit and effect the poor families especially in these struggling times.

Last time I was on this pier was some 30+ years ago with my grandparents.

Haven't seen it since the fire but it all looks good today. I don't remember all the gold bits though.
One downside for us was that we couldn't take our small dog along the pier.... Assistance dogs only.

Therefore we had to go one at a time, but would have loved to have got sone food at one of the many outlets and sat and ate on the pier - but due to no dogs we couldn't - such a shame.
