Will be nice when it's finished. But still looks a little derelict and abandoned

Eastbourne Pier is lovely and seems to be well maintained. Incredible views from the pier. The ice cream from the shop in the entrance is really nice. For £2.50 you get a big ice cream and it's not watered down like alot of the ice creams you get these days.

Decent pier. It's a structure built out over the sea so it feels like swimming, without the getting wet 👌

The pier was lovely. Popped into the tearooms a couple of times as well. Staff there very friendly and the scones were to die for.

Great fish and chip restaurant as you go onto the pier and lots of slot machine amusements for young and old alike. There is an abservatory at the top, which if you pay you can visit and see the pier at a different angle. It has been on the pier for years.

I was quite surprised at how enjoyable it was to explore the pier.
At first glance it didn't appear there was much to see but there was some wonderful shops on and a enjoyable walk with some wonderful views on all sides of the pier.
There was a delightful gift shop hidden away at the back of the pier alongside a spot for fishing.
There was also a wonderful giftshop on the pier selling glassware and also a wonderful tearoom called the Victorian teashop too.
Also I will add that Eastbourne was a awesome seaside resort and I will be visiting again in the future.

One or 2 nice little shops but as the end of season dictates, it could do with being spruced up. There is some work going on at the end of the pier.

Had potential to be nice but was a bit tacky with the attractions/ shops / pub on it. Visited it once, don’t need to go back to it although it’s useful as a viewing area for taking photos of the beach.

Great building for a selfie from the pier. However, once you walk it, there are little food stands and ice cream spots, but not much else.

One of the finest examples of a Victorian pier, Eastbourne's stunning seafront landmark, Eastbourne Pier, is a must-see attraction if you are visiting this beach resort on the south coast. It’s a construction with much history, and a few disasters which has shaped it into its present form. Work on construction of the Eastbourne pier began on 16 April 1866 and it was opened by Lord Edward Cavendish on 13 June 1870, although it was not actually completed until two years later. On New Years Day 1877 the landward half was swept away in a storm. It was rebuilt at a higher level, creating a drop towards the end of the pier. During World War II the decking was removed and machine guns were installed in the theatre providing a useful point from where to repel any attempted enemy landings. In 1970 the theatre on the pier was destroyed by fire, and in In 2014 the pier caught fire again, this time destroying the large arcade and saloons in the midway. Since then the pier has since renovated and repainted, with new benches t added to the open deck area and more entertainment provided for visitors.

The pier is roughly 1000 feet long. It is effectively built on stilts that rest in cups on the sea-bed allowing the whole structure to move during rough weather.

It’s a great place to wander, to photograph, to sit awhile, to enjoy the bracing sea air, to take in the views, to enjoy some food and drink, or to try your luck in the amusement hall at the seaward end. It’s been beautifully restored, and is visually pleasing to the eye. In my opinion is is much nicer than the Brighton Pier further along the coast.

The pier has a variety of shops, a chippy, the Waterfront cafe/bar, the Atlantis nightclub, the Victorian Tea Rooms, Coffee Republic, and a great place selling Greek-style gyros. I had lunch there, and the souvlaki was fresh and delicious, and very reasonably priced at £6.00. There are souvenir stalls, a tarot card reader, and a pavilion with all the arcade games and electronic wizardry you usually find in fairground arcades. The loveliest thing was the extensive seating around the edge of the pier. It was being well-used by locals and visitors.

It’s a great attraction which adds to the life of Eastbourne, and it is certainly worth a visit. You’ll get some fine views to the south, along the promenade to the Ferris wheel, the Martello tower and Beachy Head beyond, and to the north.

Delightful, breath taking scenery. No charge. A charming shop at the end of the pier, the lady behind the counter, friendly and showing me her crotchet work. A fishing tackle shop the chap who ran it was so informative about the fishing.
