Sehr schöner Pier. Leider kann man nicht sehr viel machen ausser Glücksspiele spielen. Wenn man in der Nähe ist sollte man ihn definitv besuchen aber ein "must-see" ist es jetzt auch nicht.

It's free to go on Eastborne's pier. It is clean and well maintained and has the usual arcades which suck up your money very quickly. There's a nice Fish & Chips at the entrance along with an Ice Cream parlour and a few yards on to the pier there is a wide area with seating and tables. There's nothing to stop you eating your own picnic either there or on the many benches further down the pier - that is if the Gulls don't swoop on you as I saw one man lose his ice cream !

There is also a popular Victorian Tea Room which is a nice place to while away the time if it's a bit blustery.

Really enjoyed walk on pier. Small arcades to spend your change. Nice bar at end for a drink. Small gift shop selling interesting gifts

Wonderful place for sunbathing and enjoying a few cocktails, becomes quite lively at night during peek seasons.

As an Eastbourne resident I watched, in horror, the pier go up in flames in Summer 2014. I believed that the only solution was to replace The Blue Room thereby restoring the pier to all its grandeur. I was wrong! The open plan pier is an absolute delight with plenty of space to enjoy the sea and town views as well as the opportunity for local events to be held there. Well worth a visit for the views alone. 😊👏👏

I think the sad event of the fire has presented an opportunity to use the large open space on the pier for activities such as open air plays (Shakespeare and other plays) in a truly atmospheric setting. Also, dances, exercise classes and other social and entertainment events.
This large open area gives magnificent views to east and west.
The pier looks nicely decorated and inviting. Having the large open space has proved to be asset.
Definitely worth a visit for the magnificent views alone.

A nice pier lots of tables for lunch. Unfortunate colour scheme. The gold looks tacky. It's a shame the fishermen aren't allowed on the pier anymore as my son used to like to go and watch and talk to them. Today the music was far too loud and made it unpleasant to sit there for long a pity on such a beautiful day.

On a cold but sunny day, Eastbourne Pier is quieter and understated compared to its cousin at Brighton, in contrast to the buzz and crowds of Brighton. However, if you want a more reflective stroll to enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the sea, parking is plentiful and it costs less.

Eastbourne Pier is well maintained, unassuming and looks quite ordinary. Shops on the pier are mixed, some are interesting (e.g. glass making) whilst others, like the games arcades and food outlets, are typical of seaside towns. The local authorities are trying to refresh the town by lining the seafront with decorative flowery plants, but more can be done and I can see it is already on the way. Eastbourne and its pier have got potential.

For families with kids, there are some sandy parts of an otherwise pebbly beach. We found these spots and the kids enjoyed it. We cannot speak for summer months and weekends, but currently, weekdays are rather uneventful. Local authorities could perhaps encourage local/upcoming acts or baskers to create the right atmosphere. More decorations, greens and flowers could raise the vibrancy of the pier.

Overall, If you looking for a more relaxed environment compared to Brighton , then Eastbourne is the way to go -- this pier is a landmark that you would not want to miss.

We took a little stroll around the pier, looks like the current owner is really trying hard to improve and restore it. Nice little stroll to be had and there's amusements, tea room and shops to look at too

A typical British seaside pier well maintained, but a little spooky when deserted out of season...plenty of seagulls

Afternoon tea at the Victorian Tearoom is a tradition with real tea leaves in your pot, cake selection was good.

Lovely pier. Lots of seats. Ice Victorian tea rooms, amusement arcade, candy floss, night club at the end, nice inoffensive music, no charge to enter it. Just don't like the name - Sheiks Pier - who on earth dreamt that up??

I have been down Eastbourne Pier many times, but this was my first since its refurbishment...a stroll down most piers on a sunny day is always pleasant, with Eastbourne Pier being among the best I have visited, but I cannot help but think that it lacks any reason for people to spend any major time there. There are a couple of places for quick bites, but no real entertainment other than the nightclub at the end (thats just asking for trouble surely?!)...a good pub on the pier would have been good with lots of pub games like snooker/pool tables, dart boards etc etc, things to make a couple of family want to spend a few hours there. DOGS NOT ALLOWED either, I found that disappointing...

After seeing the brighton pier this falls a bit flat but it is still a good pier to see and have a walk.
it provides a good view to the city and to the white cliffs.
it has some souvenir shops, a tea house and not much more.
It is a bit windy depending on the day so prepare yourself.

This is your typical old fashioned Victorian pier with all the usual attractions. There is a cafe and night club on the end

Great 1800's kept in good condition. Zoltar machine as well as glass blowing and candy shop and a fish and chips place. Tea time with beautiful chandeliers and a great little lounge and night club in the rear.

Eastbourne Pier is well worth a visit! The views up and down the coast are lovely. There are various restaurants and a nightclub, as well as a Victorian Camera Obscura. Have never found the camera obscura open to the public, the new pier owner is spending a lot of money on restoration and maintenance. Naturally the owner is said to be considering a return to charging for access to the pier - so enjoy it while it's free!
