Eastbourne pier has risen from the ashes after the fire that destroyed the middle bit. It has a very pleasant seating area, several shops (including a welcome return for the glass blower), and a good restaurant/bar.

The large and slightly tacky amusement hall near the pier entrance is now an open area with picnic tables (for food bought on the pier) Smaller amusements remain but highlights are an excellent Victorian Tea room, gift shop, glass blowers shop , pub , chip shop and other eateries. For those under half my age a nightclub also does its thing (partly covered in foam!) and helps dispel the image of Eastbourne purely being god's waiting room ! Only shame is no fishing platform at end of pier now

Eastbourne Pier is attractive and well maintained. Good views from the Pier looking back to the coastline. Land train goes down the length.

This old seaside town has loads of charity shops in one parade that I have ever seen.

As piers go it's a fine example. Offering a well maintained walkway into the sea. The usual attractions fish and chips, souvenir shop, one giving demonstration of glass blowing. Restaurant with delightful looking cakes to test the waist line and give a man shape.
My favourite pier is still Worthing pier. Just offers a little more. However Eastbourne is still a delight and to miss would be a wasted opportunity.

Passing by on holiday I visited Eastbourne Pier , no charge to enter .Lots of slot machines and food stalls and a large pub at the furthest point nothing to write home about your normal pier .

A fun walk along the boards, missing the gaps!
Sunny but breezy, as the sea lapped below your feet. Nice traditional pier.

Piers are walkways built out into the sea. And somehow became amazing. Everyone loves to walk over the sea.

Eastbourne Pier is a great example of a Victorian pier, and the reduction in slot machine nonsense after the fire improves it in my opinion.

This is a lovely historic pier that is well looked after.
The place feels calm, much better than Brighton, there is no litter and the gulls do not hassle for food.
There is a lovely bar at the end too👍

Visited on a fine Friday afternoon. I used to walk on the pier in any weather when I worked in Eastbourne years ago. Restoration of the deck has been well done; there is plenty of open space and seating.

If you enjoy the sound of the waves and seagulls, try a walk on the prom westwards to Holywell, or take the bus to Seaford.

If you prefer loud blaring pop music (?) the pier will suit you well; you can't easily get away from it; there are speakers almost from end to end.

All in all, pretty ghastly compared with the old pleasure of just the sound of wind, rain and seagulls.

The Pier has been restored since the fire really well, and seating areas have been added as well. Had a lovely walk along pier with great views.

Tea room sraff very rude to an elderly couple who were waiting along time for their cake. Told she was too busy and had one pair of hands. Stained cups and spoons. The souvenir shop lovely and good service

The Pier is currently undergoing extensive renovation. There is an arcade, a few shops, restaurant, tearoom and plenty of seating. We visited on a Sunday and there was a Salvation Army Band playing which had attracted a small crowd of people but otherwise it was very quiet.

I hadn't been to Eastbourne Pier since the fire. I took my daughter and grandaughter on there and we loved it. It's so much better than the Pier in my town (Hastings). Eastbourne Pier is clean, vibrant, full of little gems of food outlets, shops. amusements, and so much more. Plenty of seating and amazing views across the channel and towards Beachy Head, and to your left views of Bexhill and Hastings on a clear sunny day. I would recommend this amazing old pier to everyone.
