What seaside town would be without a pier. The are part of its history. It's well maintained and mostly clean. Not that much to entertain the kids for very long, but something to do. It's a nice walk around, with some useful photo opportunities looking along the coast. Remember to try the tea room for some well made sandwiches.

They need to do more with the pier - tke a look at Southwold for inspiration. It's OK but very standard and not, in my view, the best.

Stopped in the jazz lounge at the end of pier.. live music... family and dig friendly.
Not badly price... cocktail menu.. alongside food menu.
Amusements and gift shop.

I know that the locals do not like it but I love the restoration of Eastbourne Pier which looks rather splendid against the backdrop of an azure sky and sea. Fabulous!

My parents used to live in the area and we often visited the pier with our children. There seemed to be less on there than there used to be. The pub on the pier is a bit of a mis match in furniture and we saw a lot of people walk in and immediately walk out again so it obviously isn't very inviting.

It's not a such a big pier. There are some food markets and some gambling things but that's nearly everything you can do there. I like the one in Brighton more but to chill and relax, the on in Eastbourne is also fine.

Nice Victorian tea room on pier not cheap but makes you feel oddly enough a bit special<br>the glass making shop is also fascinating and well worth a visit always feel totally at ease in Eastbourne no hustle or bustle like Brighton or Southend plus the fact they have some good tribute acts going along during ext few months showing on the seafront bandstand

Walked out along pier on a dry day but with a cold wind & found not much going on seemed a bit desolate, may be better on a nice day. Did find the Chandeliers in a restaurant the most attractive thing.
