I have not been to Eastbourne since the late 80's so when my daughter asked to go for the day I wasn't really sure what to expect.
I was very pleasantly surprised as the blight of decay that has encroached on a lot of South coast seaside towns was nowhere to be seen.
Impeccably clean, bright and vivacious are a few adjectives I could use to describe present day Eastbourne and the walk along the grand pier was delightful.
The local council and businesses should be very proud of what they have achieved and long may it continue.

I have plenty of great memories with my friends going to the pier and playing in the arcade. The pier was never perfect, it needed a lot of work done but it was so iconic and fun to hang out at that I didn't mind so much. Since the fire a few years ago, the arcade section is gone which I'm sad about but I'm pleased I still have my childhood memories from that place.

Had an afternoon tea here and as an over sixty it was funny to be one of the young ones. It was a glorious day which helped a great deal. Cakes and tea were good but you're paying southern coast prices. Not excessive though.

Nice place to spend a short evening stroll around and in the Eastbourne pier. There is nothing much to do other than taking a nice stroll with something to munch like handmade ice cream from fresh dairy. There are some game parlours and fun for the kids with some pubs and restaurants on the deck.

2014 soll der Pier ja gebrannt haben, das heißt<br>ich kenne den alten gar nicht. Solche Piers sind ja typisch für Küstenort in England und ich finde sie auch gar nicht so schlecht. Auf dem Pier von Eastbourne sind überwiegend Spielhallen. Das fand ich jetzt nicht so interessant. Allerdings gab es auch ein paar Souvenir-Läden und am Anfang einen Fish&Chips-Laden.<br>Man konnte von dem Pier aber auf jeden Fall gute Fotos vom Strand und der Stadt machen.<br>Für ein schönes Foto lohnt es sich also den Pier zu betreten.

Shame some of the shops on the pier had shut. Not much for toddlers to see and play with. Games machines all for older kids.

At this time of the year, there's not much to see but what there is, quite frankly, is quite tatty.

Really great - but for some reason I thought there was a sandy beach there. It is a pebble beach - but it's great. There's a really nice fish and ship shop at the entrance to the pier - well worth a visit on a sunny day.

Traditional pier offering great sea view. We went in February half-term break as a family and it was a great day out.

The pier is a great place to visit on a sunny day. A really atmosphere and lots going on. At the end of the pier there is a nice bar based on a jazz theme. Lots of memorabilia and music playing. They do food and on a nice day it is really nice to sit outside. I often visit on nice days
