Pretty much what you expect from a pier in winter.

Possibly the finest pier in the country due to it's classic Victorian style, although suffered fire damage a few years ago.
In the typical Eastbourne Victorian seafront, complimenting the Bandstand, this pier is ideal for relaxing in the sea air. Well kept, and maintained, without two many, if any fast food outlets apart from a Fish & Chip shop at the entrance, which does not in any way spoil the ambience,

This lovely pier is in keeping with the rest of the Seafront in traditional Royal Blue and Cream, a lovely landmark, a pleasure to look at.

Well, fine, if you like gambling machines I suppose. I had a picture of some joyful Asian youngsters full of joie-de-vivre against a backdrop of the Pier oceanside. Visitors would be a bit better off promenading when tide's out. On whole Eastbourne reasonable: town a bit seedy though. Mike, Bracknell

Good to see the pier is still open after a bad fire a few years ago, worth a look round, and maybe for a cup of tea, but I found the fish and chips of poor quality.

A enjoyable pier to walk around it's not too long and so it's not a long stroll but it is a good example of a typical English Victorian pier it has the usual things on it amusement arcade gift shops fish and chips shop and a pub but it also has a tea room which looking at prices seemed reasonable so a visit there will probably be happening next time we visit<br>All said and done not a bad little pier with some very good seaviews

They are slowly bringing the old pier back to life, free admission, take a walk to the end and back, stop for a drink in the bar at the end under the Obscura Camera (which hopefully they will get enough funds to restore and open again to the public) Fun for all, from a romantic stroll, to fun for the kids. Take a stroll, any time of the year, you will enjoy it.

So, I was down in Eastbourne for the day, so if there is a Pier, you have to go on it, don't you. Eastbourne Pier has a bit of everything. Fast Food, Seating, Slot Machines, A Lovely Victorian Tea Room, Bar, etc. Also a couple of nice little Shops.

Following the fire back in 2014 the pier has been bought & supposedly rescued by a local businessman. This gentleman was very quick to splash his trademark gold paint about but as far as I can see, that's where the improvements end. The lamps on the poles where blue rooms was are still there despite having warped & melted in the heat of the fire! Almost every building on there is an arcade of some sort or another apart from a little gift shop, a glass blowing workshop & a little restaurant. Even the old Atlantis nightclub is now an arcade & what a cheesey dump of a place it is too. All the nightclub lighting, decor & signage is still there but with the addition of a dozen or more 2p machines, pool tables & a handful of other arcade machines. In my opinion the pier has completely lost its identity & looks like it's heading the same way as Hastings pier which I believe is also owned by the same chap.

This is the first time we've been here without the dog as the pier isn't dog friendly. Not much open as still winter. Looks ok if you like this sorr of thing. The Victorian tea room looks fab. Next time.
